BRIO Holding AB divests its business in the field of push chairs, car seats and furniture to BRITAX, one of the world's leading manufacturers and suppliers of such products. The divestment includes the successful pushchair platforms BRIO GO, BRIO BRIO HAPPY and SMILE as well as additional models of pushchairs and car seats that are currently marketed under the names BRIO ®, Simo and Carena.
At the same time, BRIO has reached an agreement with local management for them to acquire the company’s production operations in Hungary, which will continue to manufacture products inter alia on behalf of BRITAX.
BRIO's chairman Heikki Takanen is pleased with the transaction and says: - We have turned BRIO's activities in pushchair and child car seats into profit. Now, the business will get a new home and a strong owner who has great ambitions to consolidate and develop the brand as a global market leader. This is a good deal, where BRITAX offers global presence and strong market positions when it comes to car seats and where BRIO offers deep expertise and a leading market position in pushchairs in Scandinavia. The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals.
